Contractor card payout terms

Last updated: 25 September 2026

1. Who these terms are for

These terms are between HomeTenant ("we", "us"), operated by Cressoft Consultancy Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 07628636, with its registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, England; and you, a contractor (a sole trader or a company) who sets up card payouts through HomeTenant so that landlords who use HomeTenant can pay your invoices by card.

They cover card payouts only. Your work, your prices and your invoices are between you and the landlord.

2. What HomeTenant does, and does not do

  • We pass your invoice to the landlord and, once you are set up, send them a secure Stripe link to pay it by card.
  • The landlord's card payment goes to your own Stripe account. You are the seller of the work and the merchant of record; HomeTenant collects the payment on your behalf as your disclosed payment collection agent and does not hold your money.
  • Your invoice is the VAT document. You are responsible for its contents, including any VAT, and for your own tax.
  • Invoices above £2,000.00 are not paid by card through HomeTenant: the landlord pays you directly.
  • If you are not set up yet, the landlord can still pay you directly, and the card link follows when you are.

3. Stripe

Card payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. Setting up payouts means agreeing to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe checks your identity and holds your bank details; we never see your ID documents or full bank details.

Stripe pays your money into your bank automatically, usually within a few working days of the landlord paying. You can update your bank details at any time from your payout page.

4. Fees

HomeTenant takes no fee from your card payments and pays Stripe's processing costs itself. You receive the full invoiced amount.

We will give you at least 30 days' notice over WhatsApp before any fee starts or changes.

5. Refunds

If a landlord is owed money back on a card payment, we agree it with you first. A card refund comes back out of your Stripe balance. If your balance is short, Stripe recovers it from your next payouts or from your bank.

6. Disputes (chargebacks)

If the landlord's bank disputes a card payment, the disputed amount is taken back from your Stripe balance while the bank decides, and we tell you. If the bank decides in your favour, it is paid back to you. We answer the dispute using the job's record, and HomeTenant pays Stripe's dispute fee.

7. Your payout page

Your payout page link is personal: anyone with it can see your invoices there. Keep it to yourself. If it gets out, tell us and we will issue a new one.

8. Stopping

You can stop at any time: tell us at support@hometenant.ai and we will stop sending card links for your invoices. Your Stripe account stays yours; you can close it through Stripe.

We may stop offering card payouts, or pause them for you, for example if Stripe asks us to. Landlords can always pay you directly.

9. Your data

How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
